Strategic alliance with Tecnológico de Monterrey

In April 2006, as a result of its consolidation as a leading arbitral institution in Mexico, CAM held a strategic alliance with the Instituto Tecnológico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, (ITESM).

The alliance is and has been aiming at the cooperation between both institutions for the organization of academic events, studies and projects related to arbitration, as well as the strengthening of both institutions through the organization of joint, workshops, classes, offering ITESM students internships in CAM, assisting ITESM researchers, among others.

Collaboration Agreements

CAM focuses on keeping up with the on-going development in commercial arbitration on a national and international level. Aiming at promoting the use of mediation, arbitration and any other mechanism of alternative dispute resolution, we constantly work on strengthening our ties with different institutions and associations.

CAM has held cooperation agreements with the following institutions of mediation and/or arbitration:

    • Camera Arbitrale Nazional e Internazionale di Milano, January 1999.
    • Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, March 2000.
    • Australian Center for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and National Association of Corporate Lawyers (ANADE), September 2006.
    • American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM PERU), April 2009.
    • Asociación Europea de Arbitraje (AEADE), May 2011.
    • Arbitration Court of Madrid, November 2012.

Furthermore, from 2000 to 2003 CAM took part in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods Strengthening Program by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for Mexico.

From September 2006 and for a period of 3 years, CAM was part of a project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), operated by the National Law Center for International Trade Law entitled “Promotion of business environment and commercial capacity through legal reforms and the improvement of the administration of justice by the commercial courts in Mexico”.

In 2002 CAM signed a convention with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD/WTO) on publishing the book “Arbitraje y solución alternative de Controversias: Cómo resolver las controversias mercantíles internacionales”. In September 2010, CAM and the Mexican Association for Insurance and Bonds Law (AMEDESEF) signed a convention on cooperation through which ARIAS México (Mexican branch of AIDA – Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances – established by AMEDESEF) has adopted the Rules of Arbitration CAM – ARIAS México as the applicable rules for dispute resolution in the area of Insurance and Reinsurance.

In June 2012 CAM and the Mexican Association of Franchises (AMF) signed and strategic agreement in order to join efforts for the development, consolidation and use of mediation and arbitration as efficient mechanisms of prevention and resolution of commercial disputes in the area of national and international franchises.
